When we go for shopping these days we find so much wealth
and variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from. For
people in the tenth and eleventh century this was not the
reality; they had none of these: potatoes, tomatoes, parsley,
bananas, pineapple, lemons, oranges, etc.. The only food they
had was what they could find in the wild and what they could
grow in their fields and gardens.
